{loving my instagram fair photos! (bottom 3)}

Last Friday I told you about how I was going to the Seattle’s Best Red Cup Showdown here at the Ohio State Fair. Well I wanted to come back and tell you all how it went and share some pictures in case you didn’t get a chance to go yourself. {It was a real blast!}

If you missed my first post the Red Cup Showdown is a competition where contestants compete making yummy creative coffee recipes. It was hosted by the hilarious Jeff Mauro from the Food Network. {he’s even funnier in person} He did a great job making the contestants feel comfortable and keeping the audience entertained & laughing. There were eight contestants total who made everything from a peanut butter java to caramel corn latte. One woman even had waffles and bacon in her coffee drink {my kind of coffee!}. The whole process took about an hour & half then the judges {Jeff Mauro, Kyle Kent, and Michelle Van Harmelen} deliberated on who had the winning drink. This part took sometime but the winner was…

Karen Halderman with the Orange Blossom Morning! Her inspiration was from breakfast, most people are already mixing the flavors of orange juice and coffee so why not combine them. Which is great logic and really makes sense. So why not have a Orange Blossom Morning coffee drink on every Seattle’s Best menu? Well Karen will be off to NYC to complete with the other Red Cup Showdown finalist to do just that. Compete to win a spot for her drink on the Seattle’s Best menu in all US locations.

After the competition was over we got cute little samples of drinks. Then myself {& my photographer friend Christen} and two other bloggers got to mingle and meet Jeff Mauro {glad I wore heels, he is a tall guy}. He asked about my blogs and when I told him I had three including a pet blog. Our conversation quickly turned from coffee talk into crazy cat lady talk. {haha}

Once we all chit chatted for a little bit we went outside to visit the Seattle’s Best exhibit. There were more cute little sample drinks {The cotton candy was my fav}, photo opps in a giant mug, a prize wheel, and even free little bags of coffee to brew at home.

After the Seattle’s Best exhibit Christen and I ventured around the rest of the fair. We went and found Karen the Red Cup Showdown winners display, saw a cute day old baby cow, a giant cow made out of butter and many other things. Plus we ran back into Jeff, who was sampling some delicious deep fried buckeyes! After seeing his reaction we knew we had to get some and boy were they good! Overall it was a great time and lots of fun, thanks Seattle’s Best & Jeff Mauro for putting on a great time at the Ohio State Fair. Check out Seattle’s Best video recap below.

Seattle’s Best & Jeff Mauro will be at the Wisconsin State Fair this weekend so be sure to follow the Seattle’s Best #RedCupShowdown hashtag on Twitter or even attend. {If it’s anything like how it was here in Ohio I promise you will have lots of fun & many laughs}

  1. This looks like so much fun! I wish we had a state fair here (they discontinued it) so we could have seen a Showdown. I’ll have to follow along to see who ends up winning in NYC.
