Combat Source Kill Max Ant Bait And Gel Review & Giveaway

Have you had a lot of trouble with ants {& bugs} this summer? If you haven’t boy are you lucky! With all the rain we received this year the ants have gone crazy “visiting” our home. I’m not a bug person so we started early on this summer using natural products that I found sources online say worked. Turns out cinnamon doesn’t keep ants away, joke was on me. We also used sprays but we had to take Henry {the cat} out of the house since it wasn’t safe for pets to be around. So when the opportunity came up to try Combat Source Kill Max Ant Bait And Gel I was very excited to see if this would help get rid of our ant problem.

After finding ants in the upstairs window {ignore the dirt, it was after a storm. haha} I placed a Combat ant bait in there. The great thing about it was the little bait fit perfectly in the window so I could even shut it and not worry the cat would try to play with it. After a few days the ants were gone and even a month later have yet to come back. We even placed these around in the kitchen to get rid of the ones that were “snacking” on the cat food.

Since the baits worked great for us & we couldn’t figure out where they were coming in at. I ended up taking the gel to my parents house to try out, they are also having a big ant issue. We place it just as the box suggested by the doorway and under the sink where ants have a habit of being. The gel comes out almost a clear color and is not safe around pets. So we tried using in places we didn’t think their cats would bother it.

Want to try Combat out yourself? One lucky A Little Simplicity winner will win a box of Combat Ant Gel. To enter just fill out the Rafflecopter below, giveaway ends the night of Sept. 19th.

Snipe Hunt Game Review

We love family game night! It is one of the best nights of the week and we all look forward to the time we spend together as a family. The house is usually filled with tons of giggles and laughter and not just from Dino Girl and Sir Buddy! One of our favorite games to play is hide-n-seek. There are so many silly and fun hiding spots that can be found (even inside the house) that the game never gets old!

If you are like our family and enjoy hide-n-seek, you are sure to love the game SNIPE Hunt. Educationoutdoors.net was gracious enough to send our family the game SNIPE to try out, and oh we have been having a blast!

When the package arrived at our house, we were all so excited, the box looks like a live animal crate (with holes and even live animal signs). Of course, we knew that they were not really sending us live animals, but we were still excited all the same! When we opened the box we were introduced to Biela and Smartin and introduced to the game SNIPE.

You start out by picking teams and picking your animal to hide. Your team runs off to hide the animal (you can play the game inside or outdoors). Once you are done hiding your animal, the real excitement begins as you wait for that first chirp to sound out and you start searching for the other team’s animal. Biela and Smartin make these loud chirping noises for you to listen to and determine their hiding spots. Their eyes also start flashing red to help you find them as well. Once found, your team needs to run them back to their nest, quicker then the other team!

We have been having such a blast playing SNIPE, that it has become a daily activity in our house since the crate arrived. We love that we can play the game altogether, but even if we are not all at home we can still play SNIPE as individuals. Sometimes I will hide Biela and Smartin for Dino Girl and Sir Buddy to find by themselves. They love to run around and hunt them down on their own! With living in the southwest, it has been super hot to play outdoors. We cannot wait for the weather to start cooling off, so we can take Biela and Smartin outside, and find some really cool hiding spots outdoors.

If you have never checked out www.educationoutdoors.net, you need to! Their moto is, “Reconnecting families one game at a time!” They have tons of wonderful games, you can download coloring pages, and find local retail stores that carry the games.

Dr. Scholl’s Massaging Gel Insoles Review

Dr.schools This summer we’ve been going to a lot of local festivals and events. Although they are lots of fun they require long days of walking and standing. By time we are in the car on our way home my feet are killing me since a lot of fashionable shoes tend not to be the most comfortable. So when I was sent a pair of Dr. Scholl’s Massaging Gel Insoles I was ecstatic to give them a try! I’ve been a long time fan of Dr. Scholl’s since I use them for extra arch support in my running shoes.  However those are too “bulky” to put in cute casual shoes, these new Massaging Gel Insoles are thick enough for comfort without the bulky feeling.

dr schollsOnce I opened the package the directions were pretty easy and quick. Basically you just cut the Massaging Gel Insole to the size of your shoe, using your shoes insert as a template. I have small feet so I wasn’t sure how these were going to work since the package says women’s sizes 6-10. Depending on the type of shoe, I wear a 2.5 in girls or a 5 in women’s but these ended up working out even for my little feet.

Dr. Scholl's Massaging Gel InsolesNow that my cute boat shoes are super comfortable I can’t wait for more long days of walking! They’ve already proved to me that they will provide superior shock absorption and extra cushioning on long walks.

Have you tried Dr. Scholl’s Massaging Gel Insoles before? If so what did you think?

Disclosure: I received the above product for being a #BzzAgent in return for my honest thoughts.

Coppertone Water Babies Delicate Foaming Lotion Review

coppertone water babies foaming sunscreenWhether we are heading out to the pool, the splash pad, or just outside to play, I always have my Coppertone Water Babies lotion handy. With living in the southwest, the sun can be pretty brutal on all our skin, and Coppertone has always provided my family with exceptional UVA/UVB protection. I started buying Coppertone when Dinogirl was just a baby, and have never bought another brand. I love that Coppertone offers a very high SPF (50-75+ SPF) to help protect my babies’ delicate skin, and it never leaves their skin feeling greasy, and is always waterproof.

This was the first time we have every tried Coppertone Water Babies Delicate Foaming Lotion, I normally either buy the spray or just the lotion types. I really liked the foam; it comes out like mousse and foams in your hands. You know the saying, A little goes along way! Well it is very much true when using Coppertone Foaming Lotion! You just need a little bit of foam to cover a large area of skin! When I went to use it for the very first time, I squeezed the trigger and a lot came out (enough to cover both Dinogirl and Sir Buddy).

coppertone water babiesBoth Dinogirl and Sir Buddy thought the foam was so hilarious! Dinogirl, “it looks like whipped cream!” Dinogirl and Sir Buddy both loved putting it on and rubbing it into their skin, a plus for a very active toddler who is normally running when I am trying to apply the lotion! I loved that with the foaming lotion, you had to make sure you rubbed it on the skin, meaning I knew that their skin was being properly covered. Sometimes when I am using the spray, especially with Sir Buddy I am not sure if I applied enough…and I always feel like I need to reapply, to just make sure I got every area.

A couple of recommendations when using the foam are that you do not want to use it on a carpeted area, I learned the hard way. I went to spray it into my hand, and it sprayed ALL over. I had foam on the wall, on the carpet, on me, and on the kiddos. It came off quickly and easily but just to be safe I would recommend using it on tile or even using it outdoors. Also, I never apply the foam directly onto my kiddo’s faces. While using the foam I was able to apply it to my hand and then gently rub it on their faces. Coppertone Water Babies Delicate Foaming Lotion does not state on the bottle that it is tear free, and recommends that you apply the foam to your hands and then carefully apply to the face.

Coppertone foaming lotionOverall, we really liked using Coppertone Water Babies Delicate Foaming Lotion. I love that ALL Coppertone products offer (including the foam) a high SPF to help protect their delicate skin. I also love that it doesn’t leave their skin feeling greasy and most of all I liked that the kiddos could help use it. We were a hit at the pool once all the kiddos noticed the foam, and wanted to try it out… I really do not have a preference on which type of Coppertone I use (the lotion, the spray, or the foam). All Coppertone products in my own opinion work great!

Farm Rich Review & Giveaway

Farm Rich snacksRecently we had the opportunity to try Farm Rich snacks and appetizers. Being the mozzarella cheese stick fan I am, I was super excited to try out their brand. One thing I noticed right away was the seal on the bag saying the mozzarella bites & sticks are made with 100% real mozzarella cheese. I don’t know about you but I’ve had quite a few mozzarella cheese sticks in my days and some weren’t too tasty due to the “fake cheese” taste. So this was a huge plus in my book that they tasted homemade with freshly sliced cheese. Another awesome thing about Farm Rich is the packaging, it comes with a little label to keep your bag closed in the freeze! No need to dig around looking for a chip clip anymore.

Farm Rich snacks in ovenFarm Rich snacks and appetizers are great for families on the go, since they are super easy to prepare. Just pop some on a cookie sheet then into the oven for about 10 minutes. {So easy even your teen can make them!}

Farm Rich Snacks on PlateWithin 15 minutes you can have a great snack on the table that the whole family can enjoy. When J and I sat down with your new snack we were surprise with how great they tasted. The mozzarella cheese sticks had the perfect amount of breading {with great flavor} and oozy cheese inside. The mozzarella bites are made with soft pizzeria dough and filled with yummy real cheese {& yes they really are bite-size}. These Farm Rich products were so good we can’t wait to try their other snack & appetizer products. To see a full list of products click here.

Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Review

Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition

I color, blow dry, and straighten my hair on a regular basis so there is no denying that my hair is dry/damaged. So when I was given the opportunity to try out Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition shampoo & conditioner I was excited to put it to the test. The Triple Nutrition line of products are formulated with three weightless nutritive fruit oils; olive, avaocado, and shea. After just the second use I could already feel the difference {my hair was becoming softer}. Since I’ve used Garnier Fructis  products in the past I already knew they produced great products that my hair loves. One thing I noticed right away is that they had changed the design on the cap of the bottle to a larger/easier to open cap. That was a huge thumbs up in my book!

Speaking of the bottle design Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition now come in Eco-Fructis bottles containing PET and 30% recycled plastic. Plus they’re also 10% lighter, which saves over 125 tons of plastic annually {based on 13oz bottles} from the landfill.

Overall I feel these two products are fab, they turned my dry/damaged hair to silky soft. The only downfall I see is that they are products that I don’t see myself using everyday. I think they are more so a product to use 2-3 times a week to keep your hair from drying out. When used everyday I found my hair becoming too moisturized {crazy right?} that my hair was limb and even a little oily. So that is why alternating them with a normal shampoo & conditioner I have found the best way to achieve the best results. Want to try it out yourself? Click here to print off money saving coupon.

Jaws Cleaner Review & Giveaway

Jaws Cleaner

Over the past few weeks we’ve been using a new brand of cleaner called Jaws. Which stands for Just Add Water System. The line includes Glass & Hard Surface Cleaner, Bathroom Cleaner/Deodorizer, Multi-Purpose Cleaner/Degreaser, and Disinfectant Cleaner/Degreaser. With all four of these cleaners we were able to clean just about every surface in our home.

Jaws cleanerThe great thing about Jaws is their packaging is eco-friendly! The spray bottle is reusable so when you’re all out, you just buy the refill cartridges then pop it back into the spray bottle. I love the fact we can reduce the amount of plastic we send to the landfill.

Jaws Cleaner

Overall the cleaners were fabulous! As you can see the glass cleaner turned out foggy looking dirty bathroom mirror into a super clear shiny surface. Not only are Jaws cleaners eco-friendly and easy to set up they also require very little effort when cleaning. Which is a total thumbs up in my book! Wondering where you can purchase Jaws? Jaws cleaners can be found across the country in many big name stores including Bashas, Bed Bath & Beyond, Hills, Andersons, and even online right off their website or Amazon. Time 4 Learning Review

Princess B and I were very excited to start our trial for Time 4 Learning. I have been looking for a program online to supplement our homeschool curriculum, and a program that would reinforce the skills that she was building during the school day. Princess B was looking for something that was engaging and fun (and that didn’t seem like “work”). Time 4 Learning did just that! I was very pleased with the whole trial.

With a membership there is so much that can be done! They offer a full curriculum with lessons that meet your state standards. They offer tons of lessons in Language Arts, Math and even in Science and Social Studies. Time 4 Learning was set up so that you could use their program as a homeschool curriculum, an after school program or a summer program.

They allow the parent to lesson plan and give you all the tools you would need to create your weekly lesson plans for your child. They even help you navigate through the whole process! I really loved that they offered a grade book, I really liked that I was able to go into my account, and check on Princess B’s activities, what she had completed and how she did on each lesson. I was then able to take her scores and decide if we could move on to another lesson, or go back and review. I also liked that they offer you at least 2 years of lessons. With Princess B I was able to choose lessons from Kindergarten, 1st grade and even some lessons from 2nd grade.

Princess B really loved the animal characters in each lesson. They were very engaging and silly. She was able to navigate the site and the activities on her own, which is always a plus. The activities in her age range were not too hard, so she was easily able to complete her lessons without feeling like they were too hard. I could also give her a challenging activity by selecting lessons (on a similar topic) from another grade level.

Princess B would work hard during her school day to complete her core work so that she could use Time 4 Learning. She thought it was more like games then actual school work! She was excited to see what new activities awaited her, and of course what the silly characters were up to.

Overall, I am really thrilled with Time 4 Learning! It met my needs of reinforcing what Princess B is learning in school, it is very engaging, and easy to use and navigate. Princess B was sad when our last day of our trial ended. It would definitely be a program that I would be interested in keeping for Princess B to use.

Disclosure: we received a free 30 day trial in return for our honest opinion.

Dial NutriSkin Lotion Review and Giveaway

Have you ever used a lotion and instantly became a true believer in it? To be honest I haven’t until I started using Dial NutriSkin lotion. A Little over a week ago I headed to Walmart to do some shopping and picked up a couple bottles of Dial NutriSkin lotion. {you can see my whole shopping trip here on my Google +}

Dial’s NutriSkin line is full of variety and I am sure just about anyone can find their perfect match. I thought my Walmart had a good variety, carrying five different types in an assortment of sizes. However come to find out after looking on Dials website they actually make even more from Men’s to Soothing scents. After going to two stores I ended up coming home with three different types; Sensitive Skin, Extra Dry Skin, and Dry Skin True Aloe.

I placed them around the house in different rooms so they were available for anyone to try and easy for me to put them to the test. At first I was a little worried I may of ended up with three bottles of the usual sticky residue feeling lotion however after the first use I was very surprised at how light and absorbent it was.

After about three uses my skin was already dramatically different feeling. My hands were super soft, even after doing the dishes and cleaning the house! {that always seems to dry out my hands} I usually have pretty sensitive skin and I felt all three worked great on my skin, not one irritated my skin. With summer coming up I’m excited to try out the Dry Skin True Aloe a lot more, I’m thinking it will be extra soothing after being in the sun. The Extra Dry Skin formula has also been great on those extra rough spots you get on your elbows or feet. I used it every night before bed and it really has helped get my feet ready for flip flop season. The Sensitive formula I kept in my office and was great to use throughout the day. Since its fragrance free you can keep using it during the day without that end result of the powerful scent you sometimes end up with after using other lotions. Overall I loved Dials NutriSkin lotion and will continue to use it, especially this summer!

If you’d like to find out more about Dial NutriSkin Lotion be sure to check out these great sites…
